Purchasing pleasure... or commitment?

I'm sure that you haven't heard about ''hedonism''... what if I tell you that's present in almost every single thing we buy or even pretend to?

''Hedonism'' or in this case ''Hedonistic'' is the meaning of pursuing pleasure and self-indulgence (which means you would find an excuse for something).

Well, whether you're looking to buy a new phone, a new car or new clothes, you're seeking pleasure in what you're buying, before and after buying them... you tend to spend hours searching and looking for the best product, the one that will suit your preferences and your style.

What if I told you, that possibly you worry more about that than ''Utilitarian'' products such as toothpaste, detergents... things that you don't need to worry about cause they will just have one role.

I consider myself a ''Hedonistic'' person even when I'm shopping simple things, I usually go for my intuition and my self-experience with the product itself.

I can relate this to the number of choices we do have, I believe that the less choice we have the better and faster decision we make. This leads to less purchasing time and more satisfaction post purchasing.

Sometimes I prefer to have fewer choice options when I don't have a preference for any product that I don't know yet or either I'm not familiar with the product, sometimes the options are all the same without anything in special, or even when options are poorly presented.

What about you? Do you consider your-self ''Hedonistic'' or '' Utilitarian''? And would you like to have less or more choosing options?
